- In Massachusetts, all teens under 18 must obtain a Youth Employment Permit before starting a new job. Applicants aged 14–17 need a signed "Promise of Employment" from their employer, parental consent, and a doctor's signature (if 14–15) to obtain the permit, which is typically issued by school district offices.
2. Secure a Job Offer: Obtain a written promise of employment detailing duties and hours.

4. Obtain Signatures: Employer: Fills out the "Promise of Employment" section. Doctor: Required for 14- and 15-year-olds to certify physical fitness. Parent/Guardian: Provides signature of consent.
